EDP R&D
Description :
EDP's R&D center is focused on developing, testing, and scaling innovative technologies that accelerate the energy transition. Working closely with EDP platforms and a broad network of European universities, research institutes, and industry partners, it leads collaborative R&D projects in areas such as renewable energy, energy storage and energy markets leveraging European innovation funding to create solutions that support the decarbonization of the energy systems.
Role :
EDP R&D will lead the task responsible for collecting Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) technology specifications and engineering innovations required to support the modelling of the PowerMax demonstrators and replicator. This work will ensure that the technical data needed for developing project tools, such as Power Vision, is available through close coordination with research partners, asset owners, and tool developers. In addition, EDP R&D will co-lead, together with EDPP and TEK, the assessment of the techno-economic potential of retrofitting coal-fired power plants with Molten Salt Energy Storage.
